For the past 35 years I have been photographing the changing landscape of urban architecture. Much of my work has been focused on the passage of time and its effect on the form and texture of the built environment. As I have progressed and changed along with my subjects, I perceived a spatial as well as a temporal change.

At this point in human history, the world seems to be coming apart. We are constantly bombarded by instant images of catastrophe and terror. This series of photographs focuses on the complex nature of what we see.

While taking images apart with my camera, I noticed that they did not quite fit back together in the same way. As a result, I was compelled to take the time to look, arriving at a new way of seeing and understanding.
